Arado Ar-65 Luftwaffe - New !

  The first prototype of the Ar 65 was powered with the BMW VI engine. With further minor modifications the fighter entered production at Warnemunde as the Ar 65 E, carrying an armament of two 7,9 MG 17 machine guns. The reklamme Staffel, which was officially designated JG 132 an march 1935, began to receive the He 51, operating this type alongside the Ar 65 until, in 1935 the later was the Ar 65 transferred to the DVS Jagdfliegerschule at Schleissheim to serve in the fighter training role. Early of the war were Ar 65 used by lutwaffe to traing role also by A/B schule at Olmutz, Prostnitz and Pilsen. In year 1942-43 were Ar 65 used by Erganzungs-Schleppgruppen 1 and 2 to towed gliders DFS 230 carrying troops from the Kuban bridgehead in Russia. In year 1937 were some machines sold to Bulgaria, here used to the training role.

  The aircraft from Tachikawa was a single high-altitude fighter. Was to be powered by a turbosupercharged 2400 hp Nakajima Ha 44-12 18-cylinder. The specialized purpose was of course to intercept the formation of B-29 bombers. The first Ki-94-II was scheduled for completion on July 1945. The six-blade propeller was not ready in time, and it was decided to begin testing of the first prototype on 18 August 1945....

The fuselage of the B-135 was essentially similar to that of the B.35.3, the HS 12 Ycrs engine and armament of one 20 mm cannon and two 7,7 mm machine guns were retained, as was the hydraulically-recractable main undercarriage members of the B.35.3 prototype, but a controllable-pitchairscrew was introduced, the rudder was enlarged, and an entirely new wing of all-metal construction was fitted. The B-135 prototype was demonstrated to a Bulgarian mission in 1940, and the Bulgarian gouverment placed an order 12 production aircraft and also acquired a manufacturing licence for the fighter, although this never taken up. B-135 flown in Bulgaria as trainer to 1944 year.

Lippisch DFS 39

  The Delta was built in 1932 by the G. Fieseler Werke in Kassel as the Fieseler F-3 Vespe, the intention being to enter this unorthodox aircraft for the Europa-rundflug held in that year. The Delta IV alias F-3 was a tandem two-seat monoplane featurig a broad-chord wing with sharply swept-back leading edges and straight trailing edges occupied entirely by flaps and elevons. A small canard foreplane was provided by two 75 hp Pobjoy engines, one mounted in the nose and the other at the rear as a pusher. G. Fieseler himself piloted the aircraft on its flight and crashed. As a result of this accident Fieseler lost interest in the Delta IV, but Lippisch continued development. Flight rials were resumed with the aircraft designated the Delta IVa. The Delta IVa, was found to posses extermely bad handling chracteristics and was unstable, crashing during a landing approach. Dr. Walter Georgii of the DFS now came to Lippisch rescue, taking the Delta IV under the wing of the institute and rebuilding it as the Delta IVb. Succesful trials were conducted with the Delta IVb as a single-seater, and a second Delta IV airframe that of the Delta IVb was fitted.The fuselage was also extensively rebuilt, and the second aircraft flew in 1936 as the DFS 39 Delta IVc, testing being peformed by Heini Ditmar. The handling characteristic of the Delta Ivc were exact antithesis of those of the Delta IV and IVa, and these coupled with the tailless configuration, prompted the request from the construction of a further airframe for testing the R I-203 bi-fuel rocket motor ten being developed by prof. Helmut Walter
